you'll lead the development of complex simulation and training systems from concept through implementation, helping define system architectures, manage requirements, and ensure successful delivery of advanced technology solutions used in mission-critical environments.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead systems engineering activities and provide technical direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nAnalyze customer, contractual, and operational requirements to develop system concepts and architectures.\nDevelop top-level system designs that balance performance, quality, cost, schedule, and technical risk.\nDefine and manage hardware/software interface requirements and system integration strategies.\nConduct engineering trade studies and evaluate alternative technical solutions.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate program and technical risks.\nDecompose system requirements into detailed design requirements and configuration items.\nDevelop and maintain requirements traceability throughout the system lifecycle.\nUtilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) methodologies.\nSupport software and hardware development efforts, including contributions to software development activities when required.\nParticipate in system integration, validation, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting.\nCollaborate with software, hardware, manufacturing, and program management teams throughout the project lifecycle.\nSupport installation, customer acceptance testing, and deployment activities at customer locations.\nPrepare technical documentation, requirements traceability matrices, design specifications, integration plans, and test procedures.\nAssist with technical proposals, cost estimates, and new business development initiatives.\nTechnical Leadership Responsibilities\nThis role provides significant technical leadership responsibilities without direct personnel management duties.\nKey responsibilities include:\nMentoring and supporting junior engineers.\nConducting design reviews and peer reviews.\nPromoting engineering best practices and systems engineering discipline.\nFacilitating collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders.\nSupporting onboarding and knowledge transfer efforts.\nIdentifying process improvements and technical efficiencies.\nAssisting project leadership with technical planning, execution, and risk management.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.\nMinimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering, simulation, modeling, or related engineering environments.\nExperience developing and managing complex system requirements.\nHands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and OOSEM principles.\nExperience creating and maintaining requirements traceability.\nKnowledge of systems architecture, integration, validation, and verification processes.\nFamiliarity with software and hardware development lifecycles.\nExperience with configuration management and version control tools such as Git or Subversion.\nUnderstanding of computer networking and system architectures.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent communication and technical documentation abilities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in simulation, training systems, aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.\nExperience using MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, or similar requirements management platforms.\nExposure to software development using languages such as C, C++, Python, Fortran, C#, or Ada.\nExperience working within Linux operating environments.\nKnowledge of hardware/software integration and system-level performance analysis.\nExperience supporting customer-facing demonstrations, testing, and deployments.\nTechnical Environment\nSuccessful candidates may have experience with:\nModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)\nOOSEM methodologies\nRequirements management and traceability\nCameo Systems Modeler\nDOORS\nGit and Subversion\nLinux and Windows operating systems\nSimulation and training systems\nSoftware and hardware integration\nNetworked system architectures\nTravel\nApproximately 25% travel.\nDomestic travel throughout the United States with occasional international assignments.\nTravel may involve customer acceptance testing, installation support, and user training.\nTrips may range from several days to multiple weeks and may occasionally include weekends.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a valid passport may be required.\nWork Schedule\nStandard Monday through Friday work
