This role is designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to grow within the skilled trades. The PM Apprentice will focus primarily on preventative maintenance, system inspections, basic repairs, and learning diagnostic procedures under the supervision of experienced technicians,\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist senior technicians with preventative maintenance on walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, and exhaust/make-up air systems\nPerform routine PM tasks such as cleaning coils, changing filters, inspecting belts, checking electrical connections, testing system performance, and verifying proper refrigeration levels \nIdentify and report early signs of system wear or failure to senior technicians\nSupport basic troubleshooting and minor repairs under supervision\nlearn proper refrigeration handling and EPA compliance procedures\nAccurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system\nMaintain organized truck inventory and ensure proper care of tools and equipment\nFollow all safety guidelines and company policies\nDeliver professional and courteous customer service while onsite\nParticipate in ongoing technical training and certification programs\nGradually assume greater responsibility as skills and certifications are achieved \nQualifications\n 0-2 years of HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, or related technical experience preferred\nTrade school or technical school training strongly preferred\nEPA Universal Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within the first year)\nValid drivers license with a clean driving record required\nBasic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems\nStrong willingness to learn and receive hands-on coaching\nAbility to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and technical manuals\nStrong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team\nAbility to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions\nAbility to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters\nMust be willing to participate in on-call rotation as skills progress \nCompensation Transparency\nThe advertised pay range for this position is $21-$26 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as mechanical aptitude, prior technical experience, certifications, and overall qualifications.
