The ideal EMI HVAC General Maintenance Worker performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.\nSalary\n$24.83/ hr. plus $5.09 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!\nSee ALL the fantastic benefits you receive as an employee of EMI below!!\nKey Responsibilities\nInspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions\nInspect drives, motors, pulleys and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists\nClean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery\nDismantle devices to access and remove defective parts\nrepair or replace parts and reassemble equipment\nInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements\nRecord type and cost of maintenance or repair work\nOrder parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms\nPerforms other related duties as assigned\nEssential Skills\nKnowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in HVAC in a COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRAL setting\nOperate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts\nUse hand tools, measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices such as meters\nUse rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.\nAdaptable and flexible in work situations\nPrioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner\nPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment. \nIncluding proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). \nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n2+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades\nUniversal EPA\nValid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one\nPass a pre-employment drug screening and background check\nRegular, dependable attendance \nU.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted\nUse of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking\nProlonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping\nClimbing ladders and entering confined spaces\nLifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.\nWork both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.\n* Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
