The Technician performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the Technician has extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The ideal EMI HVAC Technician is EPA Universal Certified and has the skill level to make repairs on a variety of systems.\n*This is a working lead and technical expert role who is responsible to immediate supervisor for safe and efficient operation of all equipment and components of specialty. You will assign work with quality control and provide direction as needed, and track and coordinate tasks as assigned. \nSalary\n$55.62/ hr. plus employer paid health benefits and pension!\nKey Responsibilities\nWork on various types of HVAC units:\nChillers, Air Handlers, Package Units in a Commercial/Industrial setting\nUse a multi-meter to check voltage lamp\nPrepare work orders and cost materials estimates\nMay assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques\nEssential Skills\nWork independently, a self-starter\nRead schematic diagrams\nUnderstand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategies\nPRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in the repair of HVAC equipment\nincluding the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n2+ years of experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of COMMERCIAL heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems\n MUST have a Top Secret Clearance with SCI or SCI Eligibility \nEPA Universal Refrigeration License\nHVAC course or equivalent\nValid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one\nPass a pre-employment drug screening and background check\nU.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations\nPhysical Requirements\n Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted\n Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking\n Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping\n Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces\n Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions\n* Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
