TDS provides electrical, instrumentation and controls construction, power systems testing, start-up and commissioning services to the Power Generation/ T&D, Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical, and other Heavy Process Industrial end markets.\nWe are a dynamic and rapidly growing company in search of experienced Lead or Senior level Protection & Controls/ Relay Technicians to join our team in supporting a wide range of Brownfield Substation projects.\nKey Responsibilities:\nRequired protective relay testing (utilizing Enoserv RTS software).\nUploading and downloading (as-left settings) and test results of relays and meters.\nMake manual setting adjustments and verifications of electro-mechanical relays.\nAssist Start-Up Coordinator/Commissioning Engineer with technical job functions such as current/voltage loop checks.\nRelay panel point-to-point wiring checks, functional checks, alarm verifications and other testing involved in substation control systems.\nSet-up/coordination of SCADA, station annunciator and network communication devices.\nAssist The Start-Up Coordinator/Commissioning Engineer.\nAssist Start-Up Coordinator in technical oversight and documentation plans.\nAssist Start-Up Coordinator with documentation uploads (ProjectWise) and completion/turnover of project work binder.\nActively involved (hands-on) during complete testing and final checkout with Start-Up Coordinator and Commissioning Engineer.\nAble to assume the lead in the absence of the Start-Up Coordinator.\nAble to assume the lead role on projects.\nAssisting Tasks Performed:\nJob Scope \nIsolation Plan\nWork Plan\nInfo Orders\nFunctional Test Plan\nSwitching Orders\nCascade\nIn-Service Test Plan\nApparatus Testing\nSCADA Testing\nDaily Tasks\nFunctional Testing\nSchedule Close-Out/Update ProjectWise\nRequired Qualifications:\nMust have a strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution level Protective Relay testing & testing schemes and exhibit advanced knowledge of electrical industry standards. \nStrong Leadership skills: Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong Attention to Safety.\nStrong Analytical, Problem-solving, and Troubleshooting skills. \nMust be advanced (have track record/ expertise) in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools: Including proficiency utilizing a Doble 6150 set.\nAdditional Qualifications:\nAssociates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent (Preferred but not required).\nLevel III/IV NETA or NICET Certification (Preferred but not required). \nApplicable Experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.\nProject Details:\nStart Date: July/ early August 2026\nProjects: Greenfield/ Brownfield T&D Substations\nDuration: Long-term Direct (or short-term contract also available)\nPay-rate: $65-105/hr.
