You'll partner closely with Product, Data, Integrations, and Executive Leadership to shape platform strategy, modernize our architecture, and ensure we scale with reliability, speed, and quality.\nYou'll own critical backend and platform initiatives, mentor engineers, guide contractors, and play a hands-on role in building the next generation of the OncoLens platform.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nTechnical Strategy & Architecture\nSet and communicate technical strategy across multiple engineering teams, acting as a key liaison with integrations and data-flow teams.\nLead architectural direction for core platforms and services, including:\nTemporal-based workflows\nV1 V2 platform evolution\nVertically sliced features, rich domain models, and robust automated testing\nEnsure reliable, high-quality data ingestion and publication to the data lake and data warehouse.\nOwn the long-term scalability, performance, and resiliency of our distributed microservices architecture.\nPlatform Ownership & Reliability\nOwn the design, stability, and operation of critical backend and platform systems including:\nAuthentication & authorization\nLab integrations\nTBv2\nNAPRC\nV1 V2 migration\nParticipate in on-call rotation and production support.\nLead Datadog monitoring and alert tuning.\nCreate and maintain engineering runbooks.\nCo-own multi-quarter technical roadmaps with Product.\nEngineering Excellence & AI Adoption\nDrive organization-wide best practices in:\nCI/CD\nSDLC maturity\nInfrastructure as Code\nDefine, champion, and safely scale the use of AI tooling across engineering workflows to improve:\nCode quality\nDeveloper productivity\nTime-to-delivery\nProduct & Cross-Functional Leadership\nPartner with Product, Customer Success, and Executives to:\nShape product direction, including AI-powered capabilities\nLead technical POCs\nProvide scoped estimates and architecture input\nParticipate in roadmap planning and product workshops\nMentorship & Team Leadership\nMentor engineers across levels in:\nCore engineering practices\nDistributed system design\nEffective use of AI tooling\nLead onboarding and ongoing success of contractor and offshore teams.\nProvide clear technical guidance, uphold code quality, and support performance feedback loops.\nComplete leadership and management training and apply those skills in daily cross-functional collaboration.\nCore Technologies You'll Work With\nBackend: .NET Core, Node.js / NestJS, TypeScript\nFrontend: React, React Native\nAPIs: REST, HL7, FHIR\nData: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Non-relational databases\nCloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP\nDevOps: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Git\nMonitoring: Datadog\nWorkflow Orchestration: Temporal\nWhat You Bring\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.\nStrong expertise in backend development with modern microservice architectures.\nExperience building and scaling distributed systems.\nDeep experience with APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.\nStrong SQL skills and working knowledge of relational and non-relational datastores.\nExperience delivering cloud-native systems with Infrastructure as Code.\nA track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.\nComfort operating in regulated environments and healthcare data
