Since we were formed in August of 2016, we have supported multiple impactful and exciting government programs.\n Position Overview\nWe are seeking a motivated Junior Infrastructure Engineer to support infrastructure operations, cloud environments, system administration, automation, monitoring, and technical troubleshooting for a USCIS federal program.\nThe ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Linux/Windows systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, scripting, security, and DevOps concepts. This individual will work closely with senior infrastructure engineers, developers, cybersecurity teams, and other technical stakeholders to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an early-career infrastructure engineer who is interested in developing hands-on experience supporting mission-critical federal technology environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist in the implementation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.\nSupport Linux and/or Windows servers, virtual machines, storage, network components, and related infrastructure services.\nAssist senior engineers with provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching, and ongoing maintenance of infrastructure environments.\nMonitor infrastructure availability, system performance, capacity, and health using enterprise monitoring and logging tools.\nTroubleshoot common server, operating system, network, application connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues.\nSupport cloud infrastructure services in AWS and/or Azure environments.\nAssist with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies.\nSupport CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes in collaboration with application development and engineering teams.\nAssist with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift, where applicable.\nSupport identity and access management activities, including user access, permissions, service accounts, and role-based access controls.\nAssist with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, security patches, and configuration updates in accordance with established federal and organizational security requirements.\nParticipate in incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of infrastructure-related issues.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including configuration documents, SOPs, runbooks, architecture information, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.\nSupport infrastructure changes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.\nWork with senior engineers to improve infrastructure reliability, availability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies, technical meetings, sprint activities, and team discussions as needed.\nAssist with production deployments and operational support activities when required.\nEscalate complex infrastructure and security issues to senior engineers and appropriate technical teams.\n Required Skills\n1-3 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, IT Operations, or a related technical field.\nFoundational knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.\nBasic administration knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server environments.\nUnderstanding of networking concepts, including:\nTCP/IP\nDNS\nDHCP\nHTTP/HTTPS\nVPN\nFirewalls\nLoad balancers\nSubnets and routing\nBasic understanding of cloud networking and security concepts.\nFamiliarity with scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Shell scripting.\nBasic knowledge of Git/version control.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.\nBasic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.\nUnderstanding monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting concepts.\nBasic understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and role-based access control.\nUnderstanding of general cybersecurity principles, secure configurations, patching, and vulnerability management.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nAbility to work effectively with developers, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to create and maintain clear technical documentation.\nPreferred Skills\nHands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, Route 53, or related services.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.\nExposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.\nExperience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, or other infrastructure automation technologies.\nFamiliarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.\nUnderstanding of DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies.\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments.\nUnderstanding of SSL/TLS certificates, encryption, secrets management, and secure credential handling.\nExposure to federal cybersecurity and compliance environments, including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, or DHS security standards.\nPrevious experience supporting a federal government client, particularly DHS or USCIS, is a plus.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical
