Candidates without relevant agency experience will not be considered for this position.\nLeads the integration of application engineering, cybersecurity, automation, release management, service management, and production operations into a unified delivery model. Bridges DME and O&M teams to improve deployment speed, security, reliability, observability, and continuous service improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nEstablish and lead integrated DevSecOps, release, environment, configuration, and operations-management practices.\nDesign and govern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security gates, infrastructure/configuration automation, and deployment controls.\nIntegrate cybersecurity requirements throughout the software delivery lifecycle and coordinate remediation, compliance evidence, and operational security activities.\nLead monitoring, observability, incident, problem, change, release, availability, capacity, and service-continuity practices.\nImplement automation and AI-assisted operational capabilities where appropriate to improve reliability, response, and efficiency.\nEnsure production readiness, transition-to-operations, runbook development, knowledge transfer, and rollback/recovery planning.\nManage platform onboarding, operational acceptance, performance baselines, service metrics, and continuous-improvement backlogs.\nCoordinate platform engineers, developers, security personnel, service-desk resources, and vendor teams across supported technologies.\n Minimum Education and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in application operations, DevSecOps, site reliability, platform engineering, cloud operations, or enterprise infrastructure.\nDirect experience in Department of Commerce OCIO software environments is REQUIRED.\nMinimum 5 years leading DevSecOps, platform engineering, application operations, or service-delivery teams.\nDemonstrated experience implementing CI/CD, automated testing, security integration, monitoring/observability, and cloud or platform automation.\nDemonstrated experience supporting secure application delivery and federal cybersecurity or compliance requirements.\nRequired Certifications\nSecurity+ or an advanced security certification such as CISSP or CISM.\nAt least one relevant delivery/platform certification, such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, AWS DevOps Engineer -
