Whether you're an early-career developer looking for your next challenge or a developer with some commercial experience ready to accelerate your growth, this is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies, cloud platforms, eCommerce systems, and emerging AI solutions.\nWe work on a hybrid basis; this role will be working 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs a Systems Developer, you'll play a key role in developing, integrating, and supporting the digital platforms that power our business and customer experience.\nYou'll work across a modern technology stack including Magento, PHP, Node.js, AWS, OpenSearch, APIs, and AI technologies, helping to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDeveloping and enhancing applications and custom functionality\nBuilding and supporting services for integrations, automation, and business operations\nCreating secure integrations between eCommerce, operational, and third-party systems\nSupporting and optimising cloud-hosted applications within AWS\nMaintaining monitoring, alerting, and platform observability tools\nInvestigating and resolving production issues while improving system reliability\nWriting clean, maintainable, and well-tested code\nCollaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful solutions\nContributing to API-first, headless, and composable commerce initiatives\nExploring and implementing AI-enabled capabilities that improve customer and business outcomes\nSupporting continuous improvement and innovation across our technology landscape\nWhat We're Looking For\nExperience with software development and modern software engineering practices\nExposure to Node.js development and application integrations\nUnderstanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing\nExperience working with SQL databases\nKnowledge of Git, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills\nExcellent communication and collaboration abilities\nDesirable Experience\nAWS cloud services, particularly Lambda\nMonitoring and logging tools such as OpenSearch\nAPI-first, headless, or composable commerce architectures\nAI-assisted development tools and emerging AI technologies\nExperience with LLMs, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agent-based solutions\nMagento development experience\nnodejs, PHP, javascript language understanding\nYou'll thrive in this role if you are:\nCurious, proactive, and eager to learn\nA logical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems\nComfortable working both independently and as part of a team\nPassionate about technology and innovation\nInterested in the future of cloud computing, automation, and AI\nAt Vax we are committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
