# Technical Leader

What You'll Do Own the technical solution for your squad: architecture, service boundaries, data model, integration design, and the non-functional requirements that usually get discovered too late. Break business requirements down into a technical plan the squad can execute, with estimates you are willing to be held to. Stay hands-on. Expect to spend a meaningful share of your week in the codebase, typically on the hardest or riskiest parts. Run code review and set the engineering standards: branching, testing, CI/CD, definition of done, observability, release process. Be the client's technical counterpart in design discussions, sprint reviews and escalations, and raise risk early rather than at the deadline. Manage technical debt deliberately: know what you took on, why, and when it gets paid back. Own production quality with the team, including incident response and root cause follow-through. Grow the engineers: pairing, design reviews, feedback, and a clear view of what each person needs to reach the next level.
