This role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead complex initiatives including performance optimization, automation, and cloud migration efforts. The Senior Associate also serves as a technical mentor and escalation point within the DBA team. \n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead administration of SQL Databases on Virtual Machines on Azure, Azure SQL PaaS Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms \nDesign, implement, and maintain highly available and resilient database architectures \nPerform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning \nLead and support database migration and transformation initiatives from on-premises or legacy platforms to Azure \nAutomate database administration and monitoring tasks using scripting and cloud-native tools \nDefine and enforce database security, compliance, and governance standards \nAct as the primary escalation point for complex database incidents and root cause analysis \nPartner with application, DevOps, and architecture teams on database design and integration \nMentor and review work of Associate-level DBAs, providing technical guidance and coaching \nDrive standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement across database platforms \n\nSkills\n\nStrong expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud database services \nAdvanced SQL Server and Azure SQL performance tuning experience \nStrong PostgreSQL administration and optimization skills \nExperience with NoSQL database design and operational management \nDeep understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity \nProficiency in SQL, query optimization, maintenance of jobs, performance tuning, etc. \nStrong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash) \nExperience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices \nExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills \n\nEducation / Professional Experience/ Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field \n5-7 years of relevant database or cloud support experience \nAzure Database Administrator Associate certification preferred \nAzure Solutions Architect or cloud security certifications
