Based on your experience you could be working directly with our General Accounting, Payroll, or Accounts Payable teams.\nTo be successful in this role we are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Someone who can work independently as well as work well with a team and professionally manage confidential material. You are organized, have strong attention to detail, and can prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures\nComplete financial reporting and general accounting support\nContribute to full cycle Accounts Payable and or;\nComplete full cycle Payroll as needed\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPer the requirements of our Collective Agreement: \nFirst year level accounting/business courses (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of 65%Accounting I (TRU Open Learning Course ACCT1211)\nAccounting II (TRU Open Learning Course ACCT1221)\nIntroduction to Professional Writing (TRU Open Learning course CMNS1290)\n\nMinimum typing speed of 40 wpm \n\nMinimum three years demonstrated ability in accounting or payroll, preferably in an industrial environment\nExcellent digital literacy and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel\nValid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent\nHourly Wage: $45.33\nWorking Conditions:\nLocation: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.\nAccess: This is a drive-in/drive-out role.
