The partnership between Teck and NANA ensures real benefits for the local Iñupiat community, while recognizing there is still more to do as we advance our commitment to sustainable practices and meaningful engagement.\nRole Overview\nReporting to the Surface Crew Supervisor, the incumbents of the Surface Crew’s progression operates heavy equipment for the mine department following all safety regulations and procedures outlined by the company including Trash Trucks, Bus, 966 Fork Lift, Bull Fork, Tractor/Trailer, Telescoping Forklift, 1T 38 Tool Handler Fork Lift, Bull 45T Forklift, Tractor Broom, Dump Truck with Sander/20” Plow/Belly Blade, Snow Blowers (966 attachment and truck type), 966 Push Blade, Aircraft Deicing Truck, Road Grader, Dozer, Tractor with belly pump/water tanker/high deck trailer/20T tilt trailer.\nRotational Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site\nKey Responsibilities\nEstablish understanding and complete training in the operation of Trash Truck, Bus, 966 Forklift, and Bull Fork under close supervision of a trainer or a more senior Surface Operator\nResponsible for completing basic paperwork such as timesheets and walk around inspection forms and condition of equipment reports\nDemonstrate the ability to follow instructions and have the willingness to learn and advance through the Surface Operators progression\nCommunicate effectively with other operators, colleague and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift\nDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards\nEnsure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nand procedures as required\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nValid Drivers’ License\nAble to lift objects weighing fifty (50) lbs on a regular basis\nPrior mining or similar experience preferred\nStrong team cooperation is required\nAbility to perform tasks with limited direction.\nWork safely and follow instructions\nWilling to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions\nA desire to advance to higher levels in the competency development system by training and becoming proficient at specific tasks and duties in the Surface Operations department\nWorking Conditions:\nAccess: Fly in, fly out\nSchedule: We offer a two-weeks on / two-weeks off rotational schedule to support a healthy work-life balance.\nAccommodation: Our modern facilities, including dedicated spaces for group and individual physical activities, weights, cardio equipment, movie rooms, theme nights, and modern accommodation complexes.
