The DBA team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet the agency's standards for data requirements across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle and GIS platforms.\nIn this role you will assist in the design, development, amendment and optimization of database schemas to meet system requirements, develop database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments, and work as part of a team to build an overall data architecture that supports the agency's needs and meets state security standards. This is a hands-on mainframe-centric position with daily operational responsibility, and it requires flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays as part of a rotation or on-call schedule. The engagement runs through June 30, 2027 with possible renewal.\nJob duties include, but are not limited to:\nPerform daily operational and database administration activities across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle and GIS database environments\nPlan, design, implement and support database structures to meet system requirements\nAssist in the design, development, amendment and optimization of database schemas\nConduct database performance monitoring and tuning\nDevelop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation\nPerform SQL code reviews\nSupport DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance and sub-system point in time recovery\nPlan and coordinate technical infrastructure implementations and perform verification testing for infrastructure change management\nSupport disaster recovery planning and execution for database platforms\nAssist with training and mentoring other technical staff\nPerform other database or infrastructure activities as requested\nCompensation and Term\nThis opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $65 per hour or $135,200 per year.
