Will utilize knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. Will perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or may provide technical assistance in a specialty area. Will use a variety of media to present course material. May assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs.\nThe instructor is expected to maintain their technical competence and skills.\nThis position reports to the Training Manager.\nQualifications of the Role\nBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nThree years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.\n\nOne year of experience in training adults, may include on-the-job training.\n\nMust have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.\n\nTexas Class \"B\" Water license.\n\nTexas Class \"B\" Wastewater license, or Wastewater Collection II or III.\n\nTCEQ Sponsor Requirements\n60 hours of classroom instructional experience OR\nCompletion of approved Instructor training courses in:\n1. Methods of Teaching OR Effective Instructional Techniques\nAND\n2. Instructional Design and Evaluation OR Organizational and Use of Training Materials\nOR - the ability to attain within 6 months of employment\nEquivalency: Will consider an Associate’s degree with five years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems OR a High School Diploma/GED with seven years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.\nAbout Us\nThe Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is an internationally recognized leader in emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance.
