A successful candidate will collaborate closely with developers and product teams to design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions that ensure high-quality software delivery. This role will help advance our quality strategy by increasing automated test coverage, improving CI/CD reliability, and reducing reliance on manual testing.\nThis position will play a key role in defining automation standards, frameworks, and best practices across teams while continuously improving our overall quality processes.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.\nCreate and execute automated test suites for web, mobile, and OTT applications.\nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable, repeatable test execution.\nAnalyze test failures, identify root causes, and partner with developers to resolve defects efficiently.\nReview requirements and technical designs to provide early feedback on testability and automation feasibility.\nMaintain and enhance existing test automation, ensuring scalability and maintainability.\nEstablish automation best practices, standards, and documentation.\nCollaborate with manual QA, developers, DevOps, and product teams to improve overall test coverage and release confidence.\nContinuously evaluate and adopt new automation tools and technologies.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation solutions.\nStrong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar).\nProficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used for automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python).\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).\nSolid understanding of software development lifecycle and test strategies.\nStrong debugging skills with the ability to identify root causes of complex test and environment issues.\nExperience with automated API testing.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPassion for quality engineering and continuous improvement.\nBenefits: \nTEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
