This position involves leading the team to ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records, maintaining compliance with coding standards, and streamlining coding workflows. The Supervisor ensures that all coding practices adhere to healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies, ultimately contributing to precise billing and reimbursement.\nThe role you play\nAn effective Supervisor, Coding will help the organization on a whole achieve success through:\nLiving our Tegria values: Respect Every Person, Act with Integrity, Strive for Better, Embrace Change, Deliver as a Team\n\nOversee a team of medical coders, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they perform their duties accurately and efficiently.\n\nFoster a collaborative and productive team environment.\n\nReview and audit coded data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.\n\nEnsure that codes are assigned correctly for diagnoses, procedures, and services.\n\nEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and industry coding standards.\n\nStay up to date with coding changes and updates to maintain accuracy and regulatory adherence.\n\nProvide ongoing training to coding staff on updates to coding procedures, regulations, and best practices.\n\nOffer opportunities for professional development to enhance team skills and maintain certification.\n\nResolve coding-related issues and discrepancies, collaborating with physicians, providers, billing, and other departments to clarify diagnoses, procedures, or billing codes.\n\nAct as a point of contact for complex coding inquiries.\n\nTrack and monitor individual coder performance, providing feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.\n\nEnsure that coders meet accuracy standards.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nWe expect:\nHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent\n\nCertification requirement: CPC, CCA, CCS, CIC or COC\n\n7+ years medical coding experience\n\nUniversity/college degree, or experience medical records, claims or billing areas is an asset.\n\nPrevious medical office experience preferred.\n\nMEDITECH experience preferred.\n\nAble to work successfully with minimal supervision and with considerable latitude for independent judgement\n\nDemonstrated ability to assist and mentor less experienced team members\n\nExtensive knowledge of coding, abstracting and relevant regulations.\n\nExperience with relevant software applications and systems, e.g. electronic medical record system.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.\n\nDemonstrated ability to audit and identify issues and resolve or escalate the issues as appropriate.\n\nOrganized with exceptional verbal and written communication skills\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nStrong commitment to ethical behavior and complying with laws and regulations involved in the job.\n\nComfortable and accountable working in a remote work environment in which video conference calls and virtual shared workspaces and tools are common.\n\nAble to communicate tactfully and firmly with patients, providers, medical records staff and third-party insurers.\n\nMust have a private, secure workspace available at home and access to internet with speed sufficient to perform the job\n\nW2 project-based consultants will be expected to provide a computing device that adheres to industry standards and security best practices to use in satisfying the Project Services on behalf of Tegria\n\nSuccess Criteria\nPeople who are successful in this role…\nMaintain high standards for the quality of their own and others’ work\n\nThrive under the pressure of time constraints\n\nApproach their work with a service mentality\n\nAutonomous and have excellent follow-through\n\nOpen to feedback and a mindset to grow skills\n\nSalary Range\n$80,000 - $101,000Now, a little about us …\nAt Tegria, we bring bold ideas and breakthroughs to improve care, technology, revenue, and operations in ways that move healthcare organizations from patient-centered to human-centered.
