Tekion employs close to 3,000 people across North America, Asia and Europe.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nOwn and improve end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation workflows.\n\nDesign, deploy, and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and security.\n\nBuild and support multi-AZ / multi-region architectures for critical workloads, including failover and resiliency patterns.\n\nManage and administer databases, including:\n\ninstallation and upgrades\n\npatching and hardening\n\nbackup/restore operations\n\nschema/data migrations\n\nstorage expansion and capacity planning\n\nperformance tuning and query optimization\n\nDefine, implement, and regularly validate backup and disaster recovery strategies, including RTO/RPO targets, restore testing, and DR runbooks.\n\nPartner with application, infrastructure, security, and platform teams to improve system reliability, automation, and operational maturity.\n\nImplement strong security and access controls, including IAM/RBAC, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability management, and audit logging.\n\nBuild and enhance observability platforms using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, CloudWatch, and distributed logging/monitoring solutions.\n\nSupport incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements for production and business-critical systems.\n\nOptimize cloud spend through rightsizing, storage optimization, and cost visibility tooling such as AWS Cost Explorer.\n\nSupport infrastructure and operational needs for data and AI platforms, including reliable environments for data pipelines, analytics workloads, model-serving platforms, or AI-enabled applications.\n\nContribute to engineering standards, documentation, runbooks, and platform best practices.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, and/or DBA roles.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with AWS, including services related to compute, networking, IAM, storage, monitoring, backup, and security.\n\nProven experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, and modern CI/CD practices.\n\nStrong experience in database administration, including backup/recovery, replication, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and security hardening.\n\nExperience designing and operating high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including multi-region deployment patterns, failover testing, and RTO/RPO planning.\n\nKnowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, routing, ingress/egress, load balancing, DNS, VPN/private connectivity, and WAF.\n\nExperience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response in cloud-native environments.\n\nStrong understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM, RBAC, encryption, key management, auditability, and compliance controls.\n\nExperience supporting data platforms such as relational databases, NoSQL systems, streaming platforms, or search/analytics platforms.\n\nExposure to Data/AI infrastructure such as ETL/data pipelines, data lakes/warehouses, model deployment environments, vector/search systems, or AI application support is highly preferred.\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nAWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Database Specialty.\n\nExperience with multi-region AWS architecture for production platforms.\n\nExperience with backup automation, DR drills, and restore validation.\n\nExposure to platforms such as OpenSearch, Kafka/MSK, Redis/MemoryDB, MongoDB/DocumentDB, RDS/Aurora, or similar systems.\n\nFamiliarity with AI/ML platform operations, MLOps tooling, or infrastructure supporting data science and AI workloads.\n\nCurrent Tekion Employees: Please apply via the Internal Job Board in Ashby\nNote: Tekion recently transitioned to a new recruiting tool and we appreciate your patience and feedback as we adjust to our new system!\nTekion is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
