Tekion employs close to 3,000 people across North America, Asia and Europe.\nJob Introduction:\nThe Senior Software Development Test Engineer leads quality engineering efforts for complex product areas by designing robust test strategies, advancing automation coverage, and driving high standards for software reliability across Tekion’s platforms. This role partners closely with engineering, product, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to ensure quality is built into the development lifecycle from design through release. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in manual and automated testing, a proactive approach to risk identification, and the ability to influence quality practices across teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:\nLead test planning, test design, and execution strategy for complex features, system integrations, and major product releases\n\nDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize automated test frameworks and test suites for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing\n\nReview product requirements, technical designs, and user stories to identify quality risks, gaps, and test coverage needs early in the development lifecycle\n\nExecute and oversee manual and automated testing across web, mobile, APIs, backend services, and platform components as applicable\n\nPartner with developers and product managers to investigate defects, support root cause analysis, and improve overall product quality\n\nEstablish traceability across requirements, test cases, defects, and release outcomes to ensure comprehensive validation\n\nDrive API, database, system integration, and data validation testing for complex workflows and distributed systems\n\nContribute to CI/CD quality practices by integrating automated tests into build and deployment pipelines\n\nMonitor release quality metrics, defect trends, and test effectiveness, and recommend improvements to reduce production risk\n\nMentor junior and mid-level test engineers on test design, automation practices, debugging approaches, and quality standards\n\nSupport test environment readiness, test data strategy, and release certification activities\n\nChampion continuous improvement of QA methodologies, tools, standards, and team processes\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field\n\n5+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development, with strong experience in automation and complex system validation\n\nDeep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing lifecycle (STLC), and Agile/Scrum methodologies\n\nProven experience designing and executing comprehensive manual and automated test strategies\n\nStrong experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, REST Assured, or similar\n\nProficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar\n\nExperience testing APIs, databases, distributed systems, and end-to-end workflows\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools and practices such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent\n\nExperience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms\n\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills\n\nAbility to lead testing efforts across multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment\n\nAbility to use AI tools like Claude and Copilot to enhance the productivity and efficiency\n\nCurrent Tekion Employees: Please apply via the Internal Job Board in Ashby\nNote: Tekion recently transitioned to a new recruiting tool and we appreciate your patience and feedback as we adjust to our new system!\nTekion is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
