Tekion employs close to 3,000 people across North America, Asia and Europe.\nSummary:\nThe Software Development Test Engineer II contributes to the quality assurance and testing strategy for Tekion’s software products by designing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test solutions for new and existing functionality. This role works closely with software engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to validate requirements, identify defects, improve test coverage, and help ensure reliable product releases. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in software testing, growing expertise in automation, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile development environment.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, execute, and maintain test cases and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and system testing\n\nCreate and enhance automated test scripts for recurring test scenarios and critical product workflows\n\nAnalyze product requirements, technical specifications, and user stories to ensure adequate test coverage and quality validation\n\nIdentify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution, partnering with developers to support root cause analysis\n\nValidate new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and release candidates across web, mobile, APIs, and/or platform applications as applicable\n\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and release readiness discussions\n\nCollaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to improve test strategies, test environments, and release quality\n\nMaintain test documentation, test data, and traceability between requirements and test coverage\n\nSupport and execute API, database, and end-to-end testing where needed\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing standards\n\nMentor junior test engineers or provide guidance on test execution, defect documentation, and quality best practices\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field\n\n2-4 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development\n\nWorking knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing lifecycle (STLC), and Agile methodologies\n\nExperience designing and executing manual and automated test cases using AI tools like Claude and/or Copilot\n\nFamiliarity with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar\n\nProficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar\n\nExperience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or equivalent\n\nUnderstanding of API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar is preferred\n\nBasic knowledge of SQL, databases, and client-server or microservices architecture is preferred\n\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment\n\nCurrent Tekion Employees: Please apply via the Internal Job Board in Ashby\nNote: Tekion recently transitioned to a new recruiting tool and we appreciate your patience and feedback as we adjust to our new system!\nTekion is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
