Under close supervision, the Installer Apprentice learns and performs installation, maintenance, and servicing of telecommunications equipment.\nUpon successful completion of the training phase, apprentices will advance to a Level I Installer role, gaining hands-on field experience while working alongside experienced mentors to handle increasingly complex tasks.\nParticipants will receive:\nPaid training, including classroom instruction and hands-on practice in a simulated Central Office (CO) environment.\nOn-the-job training under the direct supervision of an experienced Level IV Installer mentor.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nUnderstands and follows all Telamon established safety practices and procedures.\n\nProperly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nPerform cable installation, termination, labeling, and lacing, adhering to industry standards.\n\nMount racks, frames, and shelves, ensuring all equipment is securely and correctly installed.\n\nReads and stays current on installation documentation.\n\nAddition or removal of non-powered equipment/hardware.\n\nMaintains quality awareness and implements quality control processes.\n\nConducts work assignments, communicates, dresses, and assists customers in a professional manner.\n\nAccurately inventory all job-related material.\n\nManagerial Responsibility\nNo Direct Reports.\nTravel/Shift Requirements\nMust be available to travel as much as 50% - 75%\nTravel may require overnight stays away from home for 1-2 weeks at a time, including weekends. \nRequires ability to work early morning shifts, occasional evening shifts and infrequent weekend work. \nMust have reliable transportation and be able transport minor job-related tools to work locations. \nPhysical Demands\nAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and occasionally as much as 100lbs. \nAbility to work on ladders and in confined spaces. \nWork with and around electrical wires and ESD products in a safe manner. \nAbility to work onsite in central offices, construction, or installation sites. \nRequires fine motor skills and manual dexterity for gripping tools and assembling small components. \nAbility to stoop, kneel, bend, squat, lift, crawl, push, and pull.\nSkills and Abilities Required\nCompletion of “Basic Installation” training course or equivalent on-the-job training.\nSuccessful completion of Safety, Business Code of Conduct, Quality Assurance, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training.\nGood eye and hand coordination, manual dexterity, and precision to work well with a variety of hand tools.\nDemonstrates meticulous attention to detail by executing installations accurately and ensuring full compliance with industry standards.\nAptitude and interest in technology with the ability to grasp and apply technical concepts.\nBasic knowledge of current network products.\nProficiency operating computers, tablets, and MS Office software.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues.\nAbility to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.\nTrack and record work hours on a timely basis using time-tracking software.\nPossess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and proof of insurance.\nEducation and Experience Required\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalency.\nTelamon Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
