Working within a skilled team of Technicians and Engineers, the Assembly & Test Operator will follow detailed work instructions, ensure right-first-time build quality, and support safe, efficient production processes. The successful candidate will be required to work a shift pattern, including afternoons/evenings (a shift premium will be paid where applicable).\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety\nPromote and maintain a strong safety-first culture\nFollow all safety procedures, safe systems of work and PPE requirements\nEnsure equipment, tools and processes are operated safely and correctly\nReport safety concerns, hazards or incidents promptly\nQuality\nFollow detailed assembly and test instructions accurately\nBuild products to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards\nReport deviations, defects and non-conformances\nSupport right-first-time manufacturing and quality best practice\nMaintain clean, organised and compliant work areas\nAssembly & Test Operations\nPerform electro-mechanical assembly of PCBs, cables and mechanical housings\nUse fixings, coatings, adhesives and encapsulation materials as required\nCarry out automated testing using computer-assisted test equipment\nOperate processing equipment following defined procedures\nRecord completion of operations using production and test software\nEscalate issues affecting build quality, safety or delivery\nProduction Support\nWork with production and engineering teams to resolve issues\nSupport achievement of production output and quality targets\nMaintain traceability and accurate build/test documentation\nContribute to effective team communication\nSkills & Experience\nEssential\nExperience carrying out close-tolerance or precision assembly work\nAbility to follow detailed assembly and test instructions\nExcellent manual dexterity and attention to detail\nBasic computer skills\nFlexible, hardworking and a positive team attitude\nDesirable\nExperience in electronic or electro-mechanical assembly\nFamiliarity with automated test equipment\nExperience with safety-critical products\nExposure to manufacturing quality systems\nTraining & Development\nFull training will be provided on equipment, processes and quality standards, with opportunities for development into more advanced assembly, testing or technician roles.\nThis job description outlines the main responsibilities of the role and is not exhaustive.
