These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.\nWe are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.\nJob Description\nSummary:\nThe Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning, purchasing, and coordinating materials required to support manufacturing operations while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role ensures the timely procurement of raw materials, components, and services to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and company objectives. The Buyer/Planner works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks, manage inventory investments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain production and material plans based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and manufacturing schedules.\nIssue and maintain Production Work Orders\nReview MRP messages and take appropriate actions to ensure material availability.\nMonitor inventory levels and adjust planning parameters to optimize supply and demand alignment.\nCoordinate with production teams to resolve material shortages and schedule changes.\nSupport capacity planning efforts by balancing material availability with manufacturing requirements.\nCreate and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, tooling, and indirect supplies.\nMaintain supplier delivery schedules and expedite orders when required.\nNegotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments with suppliers.\nMonitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.\nEnsure purchase orders are accurate and comply with company procurement policies.\nMaintain inventory levels that support production while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.\nAnalyze inventory trends and implement actions to improve inventory turns and accuracy.\nParticipate in cycle count reviews and inventory reconciliation activities.\nManage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory reduction initiatives.\nDevelop strong supplier relationships to improve reliability and performance.\nCollaborate with suppliers to address shortages, quality issues, and delivery concerns.\nSupport supplier risk management and continuity planning activities.\nAssist with supplier qualification and performance review processes.\nWork closely with Engineering on new product introductions and engineering change implementation.\nPartner with Quality to ensure supplier compliance with quality requirements.\nSupport Operations and Program Management teams in achieving customer delivery commitments.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain performance.\nOther duties as required\nRequired Qualifications\n3+ years of purchasing, planning, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.\nExperience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment. (SAP Preferred)\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience/familiarity with cable/harness production and procurement\nExperience in a defense, aerospace, electronics, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.\nExperience with supplier performance management and inventory optimization.\nFamiliarity with ITAR, DFARS, and government contracting requirements.\nExperience working in ISO9001 and/or ASM9100 QMS environment\nApplicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.\nSalary Range:\n$74,300.00-$99,100.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
