These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.\nWe are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.\nJob Description\nPosition Overview\nThe Assembly Technician position prepares and hand solders wire and cable connectors, splices, sockets, for the molding process per defined policies and procedures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nPerforms fine hand soldering using a soldering iron and magnifying glass.\nFollows detailed production drawings, sample assemblies and verbal instructions under general supervision. \nUnderstands and applies established acceptable workmanship practices to all facets of mechanical assembly.\nInterprets and works from drawings, work instructions and bills of material to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assigned assembly.\nWorks on assembled components, requiring manual dexterity and the ability to work with simple hand tools and soldering equipment.\nUses a variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly work. \nInspects parts for quality and performs basic testing throughout the assembly process.\nAdjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.\nFollows safety procedures and wears required PPE in the work area.\nPractices safe handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals required to meet all OSHA regulations and cleanliness specifications.\n Requirements:\nMinimum High School diploma/GED\n5 years electro-mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment including the reading and interpretation of detailed electronic drawings, schematics, and work instructions.\nMust have prior hand soldering experience, wire and cable soldering highly preferred.\nCurrent or prior J-STD 001 and/or IPC 620 certification preferred.\nMust be willing to receive and provide cross training in all assemblies.\nGood work ethic and reliability; consistently at work and on time.\nAvailability for overtime Monday through Saturday when required.\nCandidate must be a US Citizen or hold \"US Person\" status. (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a lawful permanent resident “Green Card holder” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a” Protected Individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)\nKnowledge and Skills:\nAbility to read, write, and speak the English language at a level that allows for the comprehension of detailed work and safety instructions and the legible completion of paperwork.\nMust have good vision (corrected vision is acceptable) to perform visual inspection of product quality and to identify defects. Must be able to distinguish colors.\nMust possess good manual dexterity to effectively use basic hand tools and equipment.\nExperienced with some power tools (power drills, sanders, etc.)\nBasic level understanding of mechanical hardware (nuts, bolts, screws, etc.) assembly.\nBasic level knowledge of blueprints, Bill of Materials and mechanical drawings,\nAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.\nExhibits mechanical aptitude.\nMust have basic computer skills.\nRequires ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.\nUnderstanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus.\nTeledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
