The role focuses on accurate documentation, classification, and risk management to enable smooth and compliant global operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nCustoms Compliance & Documentation\nEnsure all import and export shipments are compliant with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.\nPrepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.\nEnsure correct commodity codes (tariff classifications) are assigned to all goods.\nMaintain accurate records for all customs transactions in line with audit requirements.\nWork with internal teams and customs brokers to provide clear and compliant instructions for shipments.\nMonitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and minimise delays.\nSupport resolution of customs queries, discrepancies, or delays.\nAssist with post-entry reviews and corrections where required.\nProvide guidance to internal stakeholders on customs and trade compliance requirements.\nStay up to date with changes in customs regulations and communicate impacts to the business.\nSupport adherence to export controls, licensing requirements, and sanctions regulations.\nIdentify potential compliance risks and escalate issues where required.\nSupport internal and external audits related to customs compliance.\nParticipate in periodic reviews of customs entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.\nEnsure all products have correct classification and supporting data within business systems.\nSupport requests for tariff classifications where missing or unclear.\nContribute to improving customs procedures and compliance processes.\nSupport training and awareness across the business on customs requirements.\nSkills & Experience\nEssential\nExperience in customs, logistics, or international trade\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\nGood understanding of import/export processes including Inward Processing Relief (IPR)\nAbility to work with multiple stakeholders (internal teams and external brokers)\nConfident working with data and documentation\nDesirable\nKnowledge of UK customs regulations and trade compliance\nExperience with tariff classification and origin rules\nFamiliarity with ERP (ideally IFS)\nFamiliarity with customs management systems\nKey Behaviours\nDetail-focused and methodical\nAble to spot risks early and escalate appropriately\nCommunicates clearly with non-specialists\nWorks collaboratively across operations, finance, and supply chain\nRange of benefits include.\nPension plan that matches employee contributions up to 7%.\nLife assurance cover at the value of four times basic annual salary.\n25 days holiday per annum plus public holidays.\nHoliday purchase scheme of up to an additional 5 days per year.\nInternal reward and recognition scheme linked to internal benefits platform.\nEmployee Assistance Programme.\nComprehensive wellbeing programme that supports employees with their physical, mental and financial health, (Medi-cash).\nCompetitive employee discounts platform that provides employees with discounts with leading brands/retailers.\nCycle to Work scheme.\nEnhanced family-friendly benefits\nTeledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
