This end-to-end approach means customers can have complete faith in our expertise and be assured that we will continue to provide them with the high levels of quality, performance and service they have come to expect.\nThe Planning & Logistics Manager is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of production planning, material readiness, logistics and shipping. This onsite role creates and communicates an achievable manufacturing plan, aligns demand with materials and capacity and ensures finished goods are shipped accurately, on time and in compliance with corporate, legal and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a central coordination point across Production, Procurement, Stores, Service, Sales, Customs and Logistics, using IFS Cloud ERP/MRP to identify risks, set priorities, resolve constraints and support customer delivery, inventory control and operational efficiency onsite.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Leadership and Team Management\nManage, support and develop the Logistics & Shipping team, setting clear daily priorities and standards.\nCoordinate planning and logistics workloads to support customer commitments and business priorities.\nMaintain team competency and training matrices, identify training needs and complete annual performance reviews.\nPromote a positive, safe and supportive working environment with clear, consistent communication.\nProvide regular delivery, planning, risk and compliance updates to the Site Operations Director.\n2. Production Planning and Scheduling\nDevelop and maintain short, medium and long-term production schedules. \nConvert customer orders and forecast demand into achievable manufacturing plans. \nRelease, prioritise and manage production shop orders within IFS Cloud, in line with agreed business rules. \nMonitor progress, schedule adherence and work order completion, adjusting plans to minimise delays. \nWith the departmental managers, balance resource loading across manufacturing departments and escalate risks to delivery commitments.\n3. MRP, Materials and Inventory\nExecute and maintain MRP planning activities within IFS Cloud.\nReview and action MRP recommendations, exception messages and planning alerts.\nWork with Procurement and Stores to resolve shortages, late deliveries and supply constraints.\nMaintain accurate planning parameters, including lead times, order policies, safety stock and other planning data.\nRecommend actions to improve material availability, stock accuracy and inventory holdings.\n4. Capacity and Operational Coordination\nAssess production capacity against customer demand and identify bottlenecks or resource constraints.\nWork with Production and Customer Service Managers and supervisors to establish recovery plans and support labour and resource planning.\nCommunicate production priorities and schedule changes clearly across relevant teams.\nIncorporate Engineering Change Orders and new product introductions into planning activities.\nBalance competing priorities across manufacturing, service and customer requirements\n5. Logistics, Shipping and Customer Delivery\nEnsure goods are shipped promptly following notification of readiness and in line with customer and supplier requirements\nMaintain shipment accuracy, service levels and on-time delivery performance.\nEnsure complete and accurate shipment records are retained and efficiently maintained.\nEnsure logistics and shipping operating areas are clean, tidy and secure.\nCoordinate the flow from manufacturing completion through dispatch, highlighting risks before they affect customer delivery.\n6. Customs, Export Control and Regulatory Compliance\nEnsure shipments of standard, export-controlled and dangerous goods meet applicable corporate, legal and regulatory requirements.\nWork with the Customs Analyst to ensure correct end-user documentation and authorisations are in place before goods are shipped, including licence applications where required.\nMaintain standard operating procedures for goods inward and outward logistics transactions.\nAct as a point of contact for internal and external enquiries and audits relating to logistics and shipping.\n7.
