This will be heavily influenced by the Procurement Director and/or Operations Director. Responsible for a budget spend of £40M.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, lead and execute purchasing strategies\n\nTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness\n\nCraft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms\n\nPartner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation\n\nForecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power\n\nPerform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking\n\nAssess, manage and mitigate risks\n\nSeek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers\n\nDetermine quantity and timing of deliveries\n\nMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand\n\nPropose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and improve margin\n\nCollaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs, maintaining those levels\n\nTake the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses\n\nManage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards\n\nAssist in developing more effective invoicing and collecting processes\n\nPersonal Specification:\nAs a minimum we are seeking candidates with a CIPS Level 5 who have had at least 3 years’ experience managing a procurement team.\nIdeal candidates will be comfortable managing a team whilst also having responsibility for a key commodity within the procurement team.\nCandidates will have a team and customer service focus, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and continually changing environment. Additionally full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
