These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.\nWe are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.\nJob Description\nPosition Summary\nThe Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving manufacturing processes for released products to ensure high quality, efficiency, and supply continuity.\nThis role serves as the primary Engineering owner for production performance, applying structured engineering methods, statistical analysis, and standard processes to drive effective, repeatable solutions. Additionally, this role supports New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure a robust and quality focused transition from development into production. This position is expected to mentor and guide other team members, promote consistent use of best practices, and drive the organization toward data-driven decision-making and standardized approaches to problem solving, process control, and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the technical lead for manufacturing performance on assigned product lines.\n\nLead and review root cause investigations through the use of appropriate formal methodologies, ensuring corrective actions are robust, validated, and standardized across similar issues.\n\nLead complex, cross-functional issues to resolution, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and closure.\n\nUse production data and metrics to identify, prioritize, and justify improvement efforts.\n\nDefine and implement standard approaches to waste reduction and process optimization.\n\nLead manufacturing readiness perspective during NPI and production handoff.\n\nDrive lessons learned from production into new product designs and processes.\n\nInfluence design, quality, and supply chain decisions using data and manufacturability considerations.\n\nSet direction and expectations for problem solving, documentation, and process control within the Manufacturing Engineering team.\n\nEstablish and enforce standardized approaches to manufacturing processes, problem solving, and documentation.\n\nDrive adoption of data-driven decision making across manufacturing and cross-functional teams.\n\nExecute engineering changes with proper impact assessment, validation, and documentation control.\n\nEvaluate and qualify alternative components using formal risk assessment and validation methods.\n\nAuthor, review, and maintain accurate production documentation, ensuring they are clear, controlled, and aligned to design intent.\n\nOperate with a high level of autonomy, setting direction rather than requiring direction, and ensuring work is executed using disciplined, repeatable engineering practices.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field. Sufficient combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.\n\n7+ years of Manufacturing or Sustaining Engineering experience, preferably in scientific instrumentation, sensors, industrial equipment, or related complex electromechanical systems.\n\nDemonstrated use of root cause analysis, statistical methods, and process improvement tools.\n\nStrong ownership and accountability for results.\n\nAbility to lead across functions through influence and standardization.\n\nProficiency with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data management.\n\nWorking knowledge of lean manufacturing, process validation, and continuous improvement techniques.\n\nProficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and mechanical drafting. Experience with product lifecycle tools (PLM systems) preferred.\n\nHands-on prototyping and test experience, including familiarity with machine shop tools and rapid prototyping methods.\n\nBackground in manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and/or additive manufacturing a plus.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.\n\nStrong communication and presentation skills, including comfort participating in technical design reviews.\n\nTeledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
