This role drives supplier performance, supports risk mitigation, and ensures compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF16949 and customer-specific requirements to maintain product quality and supply chain integrity.\nIn the scope of work includes supplier auditing, development, selection, First Article development and execution, assigning and ensuring Corrective Actions are properly assigned and executed, supplier performance monitoring, work instruction preparation, training of internal and external inspectors on relevant inspection techniques for successful part evaluation.\nDue to the nature of the interactions with suppliers and internal development groups, this role requires extensive experience in machining, inspection techniques, material processing, characterization, drawing preparation and interpretation and reporting. All while conducting the activities with the upmost professional demeanor towards our employees, customers and suppliers; ensuring a collaborative environment.\nPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:\nManage and develop supplier quality performance, including monitoring KPIs such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and corrective action responsiveness.\nPerform supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF16949 customer, and regulatory requirements.\nReview and approve supplier documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), Process Control Plans, and inspection records.\nLead and coordinate supplier corrective actions (SCARs), including root cause analysis and effectiveness verification.\nSupport new supplier qualification and onboarding, including capability assessments and risk analysis.\nEnsure compliance with flow-down requirements, including engineering specifications, key characteristics, and special process controls.\nCollaborate with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.\nProvide technical guidance to suppliers on inspection methods, process controls, and quality requirements.\nReview and disposition Receiving Inspection Nonconforming material rejection reports.\nReview, process, and approve supplier requests for deviations, waivers, and clarifications.\nSupport incoming inspection and containment activities for nonconforming materials.\nAnalyze supplier performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nParticipate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.\nEnsure supplier adherence to traceability, configuration management, and documentation control requirements.\nTravels as required to suppliers, customers and/or outside labs as needed.\nMember of cross-functional Team supporting activities with Systems Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Customers, Suppliers, Executive Leadership\nJob Qualifications:\nCollaboration & Teamwork is necessary establish good working relationships with product team and when working with other product teams.\nStrong Communication Skills are necessary when creating proposals and communicating in writing, in such a manner, that it is easy to understand and interpret what and why information is being communicated. Listens attentively without interrupting and/or being distracted by other things.\nDisplaying strong personal Initiative and motivation is vital to achieve desired performance results with projects that support the organization.\nStrong Oral Communication and Presentation Skills are essential when making oral and graphical presentations to capture the interest and involvement of the audience while developing/delivering a clear and concise message.\nEssential Job Functions:\nMust be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to travel up to 50%.\nMust be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language.\nAble to lift 25 lbs on sporadically\nEducation and Experience:\nBS in Engineering or Technical discipline required, or equivalent experience (10 years minimum hands-on experience with decision making responsibilities on quality activities)\n10 years working as a Supplier Quality, In process Quality, Reliability or Process/Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Assurance or Quality Control Engineering disciplines; preferably in the electromechanical field.\nDeep mechanical and plastics fabrication and/or machining knowledge\nInternal and external auditing\nProduction Part Approval Process (PPAP); Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions\nExtensive experience required:\nGeometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)\nISO or ITAF certified facilities and processes\nCMM programming, sufficient to train and coach suppliers and inspectors\nOptical, mechanical and electrical inspection methods, tools and equipment (CMM, Z-Scope, Profilometer, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes)\nSAP processing and sampling methodologies\nSampling processes\nMicrosoft Office suite\nKnowledge and experience preferred\nLean manufacturing knowledge.\n5-10 years in Receiving Inspection, Sourcing Engineering, Supplier Development, Machining\nIR or similar technology\nISO 9001:2015, AS9100 and IATF16949 certifications\nProblem solving methodology and failure analysis tools\nSix-Sigma training and / or certification preferred, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R)\nReliability testing and qualification, including electro-mechanical shaker systems and environmental chambers \nStatistical and reliability software applications\nApplicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce\nSalary Range:\n$96,600.00-$128,800.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
