STG serves as a centralized technology organization focused on developing, evaluating, testing, and deploying reusable technologies, algorithms, and engineering best practices.\nSTG's mission is to transform specialized technical expertise into scalable solutions that create competitive advantages in imaging, processing, and control technologies.\nPosition Overview\nAs an Engineering Intern within the Systems Technologies Group, you will work alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts in imaging systems, image quality, control systems, embedded software, and advanced algorithm development. This internship provides hands-on experience developing technologies that enhance image quality, improve system stability, and enable next-generation sensing capabilities.\nThe position is designed for students who are passionate about solving challenging technical problems and who are interested in applying engineering principles to real-world aerospace, defense, and advanced sensing applications.\nResponsibilities\nThe intern may support one or more of the following technical areas:\nControl Systems & Navigation\nAssist with modeling and simulation of control systems using MATLAB and Simulink.\nSupport testing and analysis of stabilization and tracking systems.\nEvaluate control system performance using collected test data.\nHelp develop tools and automation scripts for engineering analysis.\nImaging & Image Quality\nSupport image quality evaluations and performance assessments.\nAssist with image processing algorithm development and testing.\nAnalyze image artifacts and develop methods to improve image clarity and stability.\nParticipate in laboratory and field testing activities.\nEmbedded Software & Firmware\nAssist in development of embedded software in C++.\nSupport integration of algorithms onto FPGA, embedded processor, or heterogeneous computing platforms.\nDevelop software test utilities, automated verification tools, and documentation.\nParticipate in software debugging and performance optimization.\nQualifications\nRequired\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:Electrical Engineering\nComputer Engineering\nComputer Science\nAerospace Engineering\nMechanical Engineering\n\nMinimum GPA of 3.5\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.\nPreferred\nExperience or coursework in one or more of the following:Control systems\nSignal processing\nImage processing\nComputer vision\nEmbedded systems\nC++\nPython\nMATLAB/Simulink\nFPGA development\nSensors, navigation systems, or robotics\n\nPay and Schedule\nThe internship ideally lasts all of 2027 - part time during the spring and fall semesters and full time during the summer semester. The pay is $35/hr.
