To further expand our portfolio Qioptiq is seeking an exceptional individual to develop and deliver our next-generation products and technologies.\nJob Outline:\nTo produce lens components within the defined limits of dimensional accuracy and within the planned times, sometimes under the supervision/guidance of a more experienced employee, and in accordance with all departmental and company procedures, across a limited range of machines and processes\nKey Responsibilities:\nEnsures component quality is acceptable and dimensions to ensure its suitability for further processing\nSelect, inspect and prepare all required tooling to ensure the accurate production of components and assemblies\nEnsure all component preparatory work is carried out correctly to attain precision components efficiently and minimise expensive component losses\nSelect relevant tooling and equipment to attain the most effective method of producing high quality precision components.\nEnsure that the required quality and operating standards are satisfied throughout each stage of manufacture to achieve optimum quality.\nSets up relevant machinery to ensure efficient production of precision components\nInspect the components being worked throughout the operation and decide on alterations required to achieve the finished component.\nRe-work of damaged components when possible is done in order to recoup potential losses\nEnsure that the equipment and work area is cleaned and maintained in accordance with the operator’s maintenance schedule and the required departmental standards\nFollow 6S standards set out by Team leader and Engineers\nSupport the business needs by participating in ongoing process/business improvement programmes such as tier meetings and lean six initiatives.\nReport and raise issues when they arise.
