Oversee preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing and plant equipment, including audit readiness.\n2. Monitor equipment lifecycle and ageing trends, and proactively plan and execute mitigation strategies (e.g., refurbishment, upgrades, replacement) to prevent productivity or production impact.\n3. Establish and drive structured competency development plans for engineers and technical staff based on capability gaps and organizational needs.\n4. Ensure compliance with safety, occupational health, and regulatory requirements across all engineering activities.\n5. Manage spare parts planning and inventory to prevent stock shortages.\n6. Establish and maintain reports on equipment downtime and maintenance costs.\n7. Review and maintain engineering documentation (equipment specs, tooling, drawings).\n8. Lead cost-reduction initiatives and drive structured Cost Improvement Projects (CIPs) to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.\n9. Manage Overhead (OPEX) spending for equipment repair & maintenance, outsourced services, and validation activities to ensure budget compliance and cost efficiency.\n10. Assess manufacturing process capability to meet product specifications.\n11. Mentor and coach the equipment engineering team to build technical competencies and guide the process engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes.\n12. Review and approve validation documentation including URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ.\n13. Monitor project progress and manage scope, design, or timeline changes.\n14. Lead strategic engineering initiatives, including process qualification, validation, new process introduction, product transfers, and process re-engineering projects.\n15. Coordinate engineering activities between development and operations teams.\n16. Support failure investigations, complaints, and CAPA implementation.\n17. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance and sustain DPM performance.\n18. Identify and implement technology, process, and engineering methodology improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall operational effectiveness.\n19. Prepare project justifications (e.g., PEA/CAPEX) for automation or upgrades.\n20. Develop and mentor potential successors to ensure continuity of technical leadership within the engineering team.\n21. Act as nominated deputy when required.\nEducation / Experience Requirements\nQualification :\nDegree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic) or Degree in Polymer Science or related Engineering field or Industrial Chemistry.\nExperience :\nStrong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems is essential.\nProficient in statistical analysis using Minitab.\nHands-on experience managing projects utilizing Lean tools and methodologies.\n5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing role.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nMinimum 4-5 years of experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry\nSpecialized Skills / Other Requirements\nNote: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Teleflex Medical business, key responsibilities may evolve and change over time.\nTeleflex is an equal opportunities employer.\nAt Teleflex, we follow a comprehensive hiring process.
