Working alongside our Software Development Engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting both the sustainment of our current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and the development of our next-generation navigation platform. This internship runs part-time during the Spring semester and full-time over the Summer, with strong potential for a full-time offer upon graduation for candidates who demonstrate strong performance.\nPrincipal Responsibilities\nSupport the design, development, and testing of software for connected medical device systems, gaining exposure to both the sustainment of the current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and development of our next-generation navigation platform.\nWrite, debug, and unit test software code in C++ and/or C# within embedded and/or application software environments, under the guidance of senior software engineers.\nAssist with software design control documentation, including requirements, traceability, risk mitigations, verification & validation (V&V) protocols, and test reports.\nParticipate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional design discussions within an Agile/Scrum software development framework.\nInvestigate and help troubleshoot software defects, working with the team to identify root cause and implement solutions.\nExplore applications of AI/ML concepts and AI-based development tools on real engineering problems, where applicable to the assigned project.\nDocument work performed and present progress and findings to the software team and stakeholders.\nComply with Teleflex’s code of Ethics, the company’s Quality System, and all company policies, rules, and housekeeping standards.\nEducation / Experience Requirements\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with at least one academic term remaining after the internship to support a full-time conversion upon graduation.\nPrior coursework, academic projects, or internship experience in software development preferred; exposure to embedded systems, medical devices, or another regulated industry is a plus but not required.\nSpecialized Skills / Other Requirements\nWorking knowledge of C++ and/or C#, gained through coursework or project experience.\nExposure to embedded systems and/or Linux-based development environments preferred.\nCoursework or project experience involving artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) concepts preferred.\nFamiliarity with AI-based software development tools preferred.\nBasic understanding of software development lifecycle concepts and Agile/Scrum methodology preferred.\nExposure to medical device or other regulated software development (e.g., design controls, verification & validation) a plus, but not required.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate requirements into working software.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional engineering team.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nGenuine interest in medical device software, with the intent to pursue a full-time software engineering role following graduation.\nAt Teleflex, we follow a comprehensive hiring process.
