Join a dynamic, growing team that offers healthcare providers advanced medical technology solutions that make a difference in patients' lives.\nPosition Summary\nThe Test Engineering Co-op will assist the Engineering and Test teams as assigned in efforts that support either development, testing or administrative needs associated with current projects in the Acute Care Business Unit. This co-op will report to an engineer on the Test team, but will work with members of sustaining, product development, lab technician, and design teams as assigned. Project work will be under close supervision and may be done under non-disclosure agreement.\nCo-op Duration: January - May 2027\nLocation: Morrisville, NC\nWork Arrangement: On-site, Monday - Friday\nHours per week: 40 hours\nPrincipal Responsibilities\nPerform R&D and Test Engineering daily functions to support the Acute Care Business Unit under the direction of the Test Engineering team.\nDevelop and execute test methods, protocols, and fixtures to support product development, verification, and validation activities.\nConduct lab feasibility testing and verification testing on acute care products.\nCollaborate with R&D and Test Engineering teams to define, develop, and validate new and modified test methods (TMV’s).\nAssists in developing equipment specifications and procuring test equipment. Generates equipment installation protocols, reports, test procedures, and work instructions for new equipment operation.\nDevelops and implements new test fixtures and equipment for the lab.\nWork with a diverse team of quality, regulatory, procurement, manufacturing and others both domestically and globally.\nWrite reports and create presentations on work completed.\nUnderstand and assist other team members in data analysis, accounts, clinical education opportunities, etc.\nDemonstrate professional responsibilities by cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and departmental goals and objectives.\nMaintain compliance with principles of accepted employee conduct as identified in the Teleflex Code of Ethics and as specified in departmental policies and procedures.\nEducation / Experience Requirements\nCurrently enrolled and pursuing a two/four-year degree in mechanical, biomedical, or any related engineering field. \nCumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.\nOne year of medical device or other related design experience is a major plus.\nSpecialized Skills / Other Requirements\n3D CAD experience - SolidWorks preferred.\nStrong interpersonal skills, team player and ability to communicate effectively.\nOne year of medical device or other related design experience a plus.\nInjection molding, plastic extrusion and plastic part assembly process and methods preferred.\nKnowledge of engineering fundamentals and the Microsoft Office Suite.\nStrong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and analytical (data, particularly via use of Excel and/or Minitab).\nDemonstrated creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices.\nOrganize, evaluate, and coordinate engineering studies with professional, technical, and clerical staff of a product evaluation department.\nAnalyze complex, technical and administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action.\nEstablish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.\nPrepare clear and concise statements and reports.\nDemonstrate professional responsibilities by cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations.\nWillingness to learn about Teleflex Inc. products, medical device industry and working in a FDA regulated industry.\nAt Teleflex, we follow a comprehensive hiring process.
