All in close coordination with Telefónica’s operating businesses and key stakeholders.\nThe role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and deep technical expertise to steer the evolution of the automation of the core network.\nYou will be responsible for maximizing the value of automation for core to support Telefónica’s core platforms and monetization objectives, leveraging AI, intent-based operations, and advanced network programmability.\nAs part of Network Cloud Transformation team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of automation for the core network platforms ensuring a consistent and efficient strategy across Telefonica Group, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.\nWhat Will be your mission?\nLead Cloud and Core Automation strategy across the Telefónica Group, driving the adoption of cloud-native technologies, advanced automation, and Artificial Intelligence capabilities to optimize network operations, enable the evolution of core platforms, and accelerate the transition towards autonomous networks.\nWhat capabilities are we looking for?\nExperience & Technical Expertise\n5+ years of experience in network automation, cloud-native technologies, or related areas within the telecommunications industry.\nStrong hands-on experience with network automation frameworks and methodologies, including CI/CD/CT, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices.\nSolid knowledge of container-based technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.\nExperience defining acceptance test plans (ATPs), validation strategies, and executing tests in lab environments.\nExperience in AI and Agentic AI in order to build and execute projects to meet AI for network and network for AI capabilities within packet core domain.\nAdditional Knowledge Considered Valuable\nUnderstanding of public cloud architectures and services across major cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.\nFamiliarity with AI/ML techniques and their application to network analytics, prediction, optimization, and autonomous operations.\nGood understanding of 4G/5G Core network architectures, protocols, and platforms.\nSoft Skills\nLeadership capabilities to drive projects and teams towards objectives.\nTeam work in multi-cultural environment.\nFluent in Spanish and English.\nWhich other aspects will be considered?\nMaster in computer science or telecom engineering.\nExperience in team management.\nAutomation driven in improving day to day way of working.\nHow will you contribute with your capabilities to the purpose of the role? \nContribute to the definition and evolution of the automation strategy for Core Networks across the Telefónica Group.\nDrive the adoption of automation frameworks, including CI/CD/CT pipelines and In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU), across Telefónica’s operating businesses, helping accelerate the journey towards Autonomous Networks.\nWork closely with Core Platform teams to promote the adoption of Intent-Based Operations, closed-loop automation, and Agentic AI assistants to improve operational efficiency and network reliability.\nCollaborate with Infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure that cloud platforms and infrastructure capabilities meet the performance, scalability, and resilience requirements of core network workloads.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud-native network, automation, and AI, helping identify opportunities to enhance Telefónica’s network capabilities.\nEngage with operating businesses, technology partners, and vendors to share best practices, align on technical approaches, and support network transformation initiatives across the Group.\nWhats advantage would you get working for us? \nTransformational Projects.
