Someone who is not afraid to work directly on heavy construction equipment, take measurements in the field, and turn those observations into fast, well-thought-out, robust designs. It is also an excellent opportunity to grow into broader, multidisciplinary, system-level integration work.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign vehicle-specific brackets, mounts, and mechanical interfaces for sensor and compute integration across diverse heavy equipment platforms\n\nSupport integration of enclosures, sensors, and compute hardware onto new vehicle platforms using established architecture standards\n\nContribute to core product improvements, including enclosures, harness routing hardware, and mounting fixtures, based on field feedback and DFM/DFA\n\nCreate and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for mechanical components\n\nSupport environmental qualification testing, including vibration, shock, and thermal testing\n\nPerform fit-checks and installation validation on physical vehicles, including occasional on-site field work\n\nTroubleshoot field mechanical integration issues and iterate designs based on manufacturing and field feedback\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field\n\n2+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in vehicle, automotive, or heavy equipment integration\n\nExperience designing brackets, mounts, or structural components using sheet metal, machined parts, or weldments\n\nProficiency in CAD (Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar) and working knowledge of GD&T\n\nFamiliarity with DFM/DFA principles\n\nHands-on experience with physical hardware, fixtures, and prototypes\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally\n\nWillingness to travel ~10% within the US\n\nComfortable climbing onto heavy construction equipment for measurements, fit-checks, and installation validation\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with harness routing, connectors, or environmental sealing (IP-rated enclosures)\n\nExperience with heavy equipment, automotive, or off-highway vehicles\n\nExposure to environmental or vibration/shock testing\n\nExperience with PLM/PDM systems and engineering change management\n\nExperience taking a design from prototype through to production\n\nExperience with structural analysis/FEA or vibration
