This role is accountable for engineering execution, software architecture, operational excellence, talent development, and cross-functional delivery.\nThe Director partners closely with Product Management, Architecture, Customer Success, Clinical Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology investments deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. While responsible for leading and growing a team of engineers, this role remains actively engaged in technical decision-making, architecture reviews, engineering best practices, and delivery execution.\nThis position has end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery for assigned products and platforms, including technical strategy, resource management, roadmap execution, operational health, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWhat you will do\nLead and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development planning.\nProvide technical leadership through participation in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering decision-making.\nPartner with Product Management and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver customer-focused solutions.\nEstablish engineering standards, development practices, and operational processes that promote scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering effectiveness, software quality, operational excellence, and delivery predictability.\nDevelop and maintain key engineering, delivery, reliability, and operational metrics to measure team and platform performance.\nFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence.\nCollaborate across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Clinical Operations, and Executive Leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.\nRepresent Engineering in customer discussions, escalations, strategic initiatives, and executive planning activities as needed.\nDrive adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, and AI-assisted software development capabilities.\nWhat we look for\nExperience leading software engineering teams responsible for delivering enterprise-scale software applications and platforms.\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and modern software development practices.\nExperience operating software in cloud-based production environments with responsibility for reliability, scalability, observability, and security.\nExperience leading technical design reviews and guiding architecture decisions across complex systems.\nExperience partnering with Product Management and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical strategies and execution plans.\nExperience building, coaching, and developing engineering talent.\nExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nExperience with Java, C#, Scala, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.\nPreferred experience in healthcare technology, HL7, FHIR, patient flow, or healthcare operations.\nStrong understanding of software development methodologies, engineering life cycles, and organizational scaling practices.\nAbility to translate business strategy into technical direction and executable engineering plans.\nAbility to influence senior leadership and drive outcomes through collaboration.\nExcellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (required).\nMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).\nApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.\nBenefits\nEmployee Medical/dental/vision premiums paid 100% - family members without coverage Medical 100% - small cost for dependents on dental and vision, which start from day one!\nLife and AD&D\nFlexible Spending Accounts: Medical, Dependent Care, and Transportation\n401 (k) Retirement Savings\nTuition Reimbursement\nMilitary Paid Leave (up to 6 months of base salary while on military leave)\nPaid Time Off\nPaid parental leave\nDisclaimer:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
