The successful candidate will manage story assignments, coordinate logistics, support field crews, and follow up on daily newsroom workflows across multiple news programs and platforms. This individual must be a strategic and creative thinker, a self-starter, and a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment.\nYOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)\nConstantly monitor and respond to breaking news and developing stories across multiple platforms.\nMonitor news wires, social media, scanners, broadcasts, and online sources to quickly identify breaking news opportunities.\nGenerate, research, verify, plan, and develop story ideas for newscasts, digital platforms, and special coverage.\nCoordinate daily story production with reporters, photographers, and multimedia journalists by gathering visual elements, securing video feeds, and arranging interviews relevant to assignments.\nSecure high-profile guests, newsmakers, public figures, and subject matter experts.\nCoordinate and manage live remotes, video feeds, live shots, and interview logistics under tight deadlines.\nCoordinate field crews throughout the news gathering and production process, including scheduling interviews and providing accurate logistical information.\nContinuously update stories with the latest developments and information.\nMaintain the iNews system updated with crew locations, assignments, and timelines.\nMonitor law enforcement, fire communications, scanners, wires, and beat checks for breaking news and spot coverage opportunities.\nAssist writers, producers, editors, and digital teams with information gathering and story updates.\nArrange, download, and supervise incoming video feeds.\nParticipate in editorial meetings and communicate daily coverage plans and developments.\nAssist with news production and special projects as assigned.\nField produce and travel as needed for major news coverage and special assignments.\nStay informed on national and international current events, legal developments, and culturally relevant topics.\nWork effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing breaking news situations and adapting quickly to changes.\nManage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines independently.\nBe available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during breaking news and continuous coverage situations.\nPerform other duties as assigned by management.\nYOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)\nBS/BA or MA in Communications, Journalism, New Media, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\nFully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).\nMinimum of 2 years of newsroom experience required.\nAt least 1 year of experience as a Producer and/or Assignment Editor preferred.\nStrong editorial judgment and knowledge of current affairs.\nHighly motivated, creative, assertive, detail-oriented, and organized.\nAbility to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience managing multiple social media platforms.\nBasic video editing knowledge.\nAbility to monitor and record multiple video feeds simultaneously.\nExperience working with non-linear editing and archive systems.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, iNews, Avid, live feed systems, and social media platforms.\nStrong knowledge of city agencies, public safety operations, and key newsmakers preferred.\nMust be willing to work onsite in Miami, FL.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, type, reach, and sit for up to 8 hours.\nEmployment and education verification required.\nMust be willing to submit to a background investigation.\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.\nOUR BENEFITS:\nTelevisaUnivision believes that a happy, well-balanced employee is what makes our culture thrive.
