The successful candidate should be proud of the commitment to serving our local community. This role will work as MMJ gathering, shooting, and editing own material.\nABOUT YOU:\nThe MMJ will research, enterprise, develop, write, shoot and edit stories on deadline for recorded or live newscasts. MMJs are responsible for crafting compelling stories through creative shots, engaging visuals, and strong storytelling that connects with audiences on air and online. You will build strong relationships with community leaders, government officials, and local authorities. MMJs will present reports in a clear, concise, objective manner; as well as present enterprising stories and sweeps series ideas. You are a team player with solid news judgment and must be a “one-person band” to complete a story from beginning to end. You must be able to work independently with the camera, write, edit your own story, and interact with the viewers through all the Univision media platforms. You will report to the News Director.\nYOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)\nGather information, conduct interviews, shoot videos, produce, report, and edit assigned stories daily.\nPost videos, pictures and stories to websites, Facebook, and other social media outlets or streaming platforms.\nMaintain strong familiarity with local, state, and national news and events across our coverage area.\nEstablish and maintain news contacts in the community.\nMaintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that works well with coworkers, supervisors, and the community at large.\nWork independently while out in the field and under various weather elements.\nYOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)\nA bachelor’s degree is preferred (i.e., multimedia, journalism, television broadcasting).\n2+ newsroom experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.\nExcellent command of Spanish and English both written and verbal.\nApplicants must be able to use newsroom computer systems and applications (both hardware/software).\nKnowledge of iNews, video editing (Adobe Premiere and Adobe creative cloud preferred), and file sharing systems preferred.\nHigh ethical and journalistic standards.\nAdvanced knowledge in the use of field cameras, gear and editing systems.\nAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.\nA valid driver’s license with a good driving record.\nAbility to sit, stand and walk for up to (8) hours without restrictions.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 30 pounds for extended periods of time.\n*This position will require the employee to be a member or join SAG-AFTRA.\nBase pay Range: $82,000 - $87,500\nOUR BENEFITS:\nTelevisaUnivision believes that a happy, well-balanced employee is what makes our culture thrive.
