backend services and microservices supporting TelevisaUnivision's digital products.\nDevelop secure, resilient, and high-performance RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services consumed by millions of users.\nWrite clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern software engineering practices, including unit, integration, and performance testing.\nDesign distributed systems capable of supporting high traffic, low latency, and high availability.\nOptimize application performance across services, databases, caching layers, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure.\nParticipate in architecture reviews and influence technical decisions for new products, platform enhancements, and modernization initiatives.\nTake ownership of backend services throughout their lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.\nServe as a technical leader on complex engineering initiatives by helping guide architectural decisions, establishing engineering best practices, and influencing technical direction across the team.\nCollaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, QA, Security, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.\nPerform thoughtful code reviews while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices across the organization.\nImprove platform observability through centralized logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and performance metrics.\nContribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and continuous delivery initiatives that improve software quality and release velocity.\nDrive technical debt reduction, platform modernization, and adoption of modern backend engineering practices.\nParticipate in production support, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements.\nInfluence engineering decisions through data-driven problem solving, technical expertise, and collaborative partnership across teams.\nYOU HAVE: (Qualifications, Experience)\n6+ years of professional experience building backend applications in production environments.\nStrong experience designing distributed systems and scalable service-oriented architectures.\nExpert-level proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language such as Go, Java, Python, C#, or a comparable language.\nExtensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.\nStrong understanding of software architecture principles, including SOLID, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and common design patterns.\nExperience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.\nHands-on experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.\nExperience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.\nExperience deploying and operating services within cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.\nStrong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native application development.\nExperience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.\nFamiliarity with observability tools including centralized logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing.\nStrong understanding of backend security best practices, including authentication, authorization, API security, and secrets management.\nExperience working within Agile software development environments.\nDemonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from design through production while balancing scalability, reliability, and maintainability.\nExcellent analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAdvanced English proficiency.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience supporting products serving millions of daily active users.\nExperience building highly available, low-latency backend platforms operating at internet scale.\nExperience with event-driven architectures and streaming technologies.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).\nExperience optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency.\nExperience contributing to backend platform modernization, cloud migration, or large-scale architectural transformation initiatives.\nExperience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across multiple engineering initiatives.\nFamiliarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, production operations, and operational excellence.\nExperience working with AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or similar) to improve engineering productivity and software quality.\nExperience working within globally distributed engineering organizations across
