This role sits at the intersection of site reliability engineering, DevOps, and media workflows, with a strong focus on video delivery systems and streaming technologies.\nYou will play a critical role in architecting and evolving our media infrastructure, leveraging both open-source and proprietary technologies to support live and on-demand streaming at scale.\nABOUT YOU:\nYou bring deep expertise in building and scaling media and streaming infrastructure. You are passionate about solving complex distributed systems challenges and have a strong understanding of video streaming technologies, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps practices.\nYou thrive in highly technical environments, enjoy working across teams, and are motivated to build resilient, high-performance systems that deliver seamless playback experiences to global audiences.\nYOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)\n· Design, architect, and implement scalable streaming infrastructure using both open-source and proprietary technologies\n· Build and optimize systems including:\no Video transcoding pipelines\no Just-in-time (JIT) packaging\no Rights and entitlements management systems\no CDN caching strategies for VOD and live streaming delivery\no Server-side ad insertion (SSAI)\no Service mesh architectures (Envoy)\n· Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code across platforms such as GCP and AWS\n· Build, operate, and scale containerized media workflows on Kubernetes\n· Leverage serverless technologies including edge compute, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions\n· Define and implement high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies aligned with SLAs\n· Manage automation and orchestration platforms supporting production services\nYOU HAVE: (Qualifications, Experience)\nStrong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript or Rust\nAdvanced expertise designing, deploying, and operating systems on Kubernetes\nExperience implementing Envoy within complex microservices architectures\nProficiency in CDN configuration and optimization, including VCL scripting (e.g., Fastly)\nDeep knowledge of streaming protocols and formats, including:\nHLS, DASH, CMAF\nLow-latency streaming (LL-HLS, LL-DASH)\n\nExperience with ad stitching and dynamic ad insertion, including integrations with Google Ad Manager (GAM)\nHands-on experience implementing and managing DRM systems, including:\nSPEKE v1/v2\nFairPlay, Widevine, PlayReady\nContent encryption and protection mechanisms\n\nCertified Widevine Implementation Partner (CWIP) certification required.
