We’ve grown quickly since our inception in 2019, now with offices in Pune and Bangalore\nFocus of the Role\nAs a Senior Wireless Engineering Specialist, you’ll provide deep technical expertise across Mobile Radio Access Networks (RAN), helping optimise network performance and deliver a superior mobile experience for our customers.\nYou’ll work across 4G and 5G RAN optimisation, RF performance, capacity and network modernisation, using data and engineering insights to identify performance opportunities, resolve complex network issues and support the evolution of Telstra’s wireless network.\nKey Responsibilities\nOptimise and continuously improve 4G/5G Radio Access Network performance.\nPerform detailed RF and network performance analysis, identifying issues and improvement opportunities.\nDevelop optimisation strategies across coverage, capacity, configuration and customer experience.\nSupport 5G modernisation, network upgrades, new feature trials and technology rollouts.\nInvestigate complex RAN faults, interference and escalated customer-impacting network issues.\nAnalyse multiple network and performance data sources to generate actionable insights.\nCollaborate with technology vendors including Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco and network optimisation/tool providers to troubleshoot and implement solutions.\nProvide technical leadership, documentation, knowledge sharing and mentoring to other engineers.\nTechnical Skills\n4G / LTE and 5G RAN\nMobile RAN architecture, planning and optimisation\nRF engineering, radio propagation and interference management\nNetwork performance management and optimisation\nCoverage and capacity optimisation\nRAN fault investigation and troubleshooting\nRF modelling and optimisation tools\nNetwork configuration and performance analytics\nPython, scripting and data analytics\nExposure to AI/ML, network automation, AIOps and predictive analytics is highly desirable.\nEssential Skills & Experience\n10+ years of experience in Mobile RAN planning, optimisation and performance management.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent tertiary engineering qualification.\nStrong knowledge of 4G/5G RAN architecture, RF principles and network optimisation.\nProven ability to analyse complex network performance data and translate findings into engineering solutions.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex wireless network environments.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nStrong collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering teams, vendors and business stakeholders.\nExpert-level RF optimisation knowledge and coding/data analytics capability are highly desirable.\nIf you are looking to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you!\nAs part of your application with Telstra, you may receive communications from us on +61 440 135 548 (for job applications in Australia) and +1 (623) 400-7726 (for job applications in the Philippines and India).\nWhen you join our team, you become part of a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone is respected, valued and celebrated.
