Description\nAs a Senior Domain Expert - DevOps, you will:\nProvide technical leadership for the Nokia NOrC orchestration platform and associated DEaaS capabilities across production and non-production environments.\nDefine and influence the long-term strategy, architecture and evolution of orchestration and automation platforms across the DEaaS Mission.\nLead the design, implementation and optimisation of DevOps, DevSecOps and Platform Engineering practices, ensuring secure, consistent and automated delivery pipelines.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, TPOs, architects and engineering teams to define platform roadmaps, capability investments and technical priorities.\nDesign, integrate, operate and continuously improve complex orchestration, automation and network management platforms.\nDrive automation initiatives that improve reliability, operational efficiency, deployment velocity, service quality and customer outcomes.\nChampion platform resilience, security, observability, operational readiness and service reliability practices.\nProvide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues, conducting detailed root cause analysis and implementing preventative improvements.\nEstablish engineering standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, reusable patterns and technical best practices across multiple teams.\nEvaluate emerging technologies, industry trends and vendor solutions to support future platform evolution and Telstra's Autonomous Network strategy.\nInfluence vendor roadmaps and ensure external solutions align with Telstra's business, operational and technology objectives.\nDrive cross-domain technology alignment, standardisation and simplification initiatives to reduce complexity and maximise capability reuse.\nRepresent the DEaaS Orchestration Mission in architecture review boards, governance forums, technical steering committees and strategic vendor engagements.\nProvide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers and technical specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation and operational excellence.\nSupport governance activities by providing updates on platform health, delivery progress, risks, dependencies, investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.\nLead or contribute to major transformation, modernisation, migration and platform upgrade initiatives.\nParticipate in on-call and out-of-hours support activities as required to maintain critical business services.\nThe successful candidate will be expected to manage highly complex technical challenges, influence technical direction across multiple teams, guide strategic technology decisions and operate with a high degree of autonomy while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Telstra.\nEssential\n10+ years' experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps or Telecommunications Technology environments.\nExtensive hands-on experience deploying, configuring and supporting Nokia NOrC orchestration solutions.\nTertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.\nDeep technical expertise in DevOps, DevSecOps, automation, cloud-native and platform engineering practices.\nStrong understanding of service orchestration, workflow automation, telecommunications OSS environments and operational support platforms.\nProven experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.\nExperience influencing architecture decisions and defining technical strategy for complex enterprise platforms.\nStrong Linux administration, scripting and automation skills, including Python, Ansible and Bash.\nExperience operating mission-critical platforms with demanding availability, resilience, performance and security requirements.\nExperience implementing observability, monitoring and operational excellence practices.\nProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within large-scale production environments.\nExperience establishing engineering standards, governance frameworks and platform best practices.\nExperience working within Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps operating models.\nStrong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills across technical and business audiences.\nHighly Desirable\nHands-on experience within Telstra's DEaaS environments.\nWorking knowledge of telecommunications OSS/BSS architectures and network domain operations.\nExperience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, SLOs and reliability frameworks.\nExperience integrating enterprise platforms through APIs, event-driven architectures and microservices.\nExperience with GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus and modern observability platforms.\nStrong understanding of cyber security, DevSecOps controls and secure software delivery practices.\nExperience managing large-scale platform upgrades, migrations and transformation initiatives.\nUnderstanding of inventory, catalogue, assurance and orchestration ecosystems within telecommunications environments.\nExperience developing strategic technology roadmaps and capability uplift plans.\nExperience influencing enterprise architecture and technology investment decisions.\nKnowledge of Autonomous Networks, AIOps and AI-driven operational
