ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with RF communications, satellite systems, and quantitative modeling to support mission analysis, system design, and performance evaluation.\nCore Responsibilities\nDevelop and advance quantitative models, algorithms, and simulation frameworks to support mission analysis and enhance space communications capabilities\nPerform system-level analyses, including: \nCommunications link analysis\nNetwork capacity and loading assessments\nCoverage and performance evaluations\nAnalyses of alternatives (AoA)\nDesign, evaluate, and optimize RF communications architectures for space and ground systems\nCollaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to translate mission requirements into technical solutions and analytical models\nDocument methodologies, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports and briefings\nSupport the development and continuous improvement of mission analysis tools and processes\nManage and update technical documentation and databases for operational and projected missions and assets.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience OR \nMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.\nWork Authorization: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.\nRole/Work Schedule\nThis is a full-time, on-site position in Greenbelt, MD.\nPreferred Skills\nUnderstanding and work experience with RF modulation techniques, error-correction coding, link budgets, and protocols. \nExperience with satellite communications systems and architectures \nKnowledge of NASA SCaN (Space Communications and Navigation) networks or similar government/commercial systems \nExperience with ground systems engineering and operations for satellite communications \nExperience applying RF communications concepts-such as modulation, coding, link budgets, and protocols-in system modeling, simulation, or performance analysis\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for technical
