This role can be located in Noida\nThe Opportunity\nWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience and strong hands-on expertise in Google BigQuery, SQL, Python, Apache Airflow, DAG development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.\nThe candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting scalable data pipelines and data solutions on the Google Cloud platform. The role requires strong technical ownership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with engineering, business, and analytics teams.\nResponsibilities\nStrong hands-on experience with Google BigQuery.\n\nExpertise in BigQuery SQL, partitioning, clustering, optimization, and performance tuning.\n\nExperience designing scalable BigQuery data models and data warehouses.\n\nUnderstanding of BigQuery cost optimization and workload management.\n\nStrong proficiency in SQL.\n\nExperience writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and stored procedures.\n\nStrong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with Python for data engineering and automation.\n\nExperience developing reusable, maintainable, and production-quality Python code.\n\nGood understanding of exception handling, logging, testing, and package management.\n\nStrong experience with Apache Airflow.\n\nHands-on experience designing, developing, scheduling, and monitoring Airflow DAGs.\n\nExperience with task dependencies, operators, sensors, retries, alerts, scheduling, and failure handling.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot and optimize Airflow workflows.\n\nStrong understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.\n\nExperience automating build, testing, validation, and deployment of data pipelines and Airflow DAGs.\n\nExperience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent\n\nStrong understanding of DevOps principles and practices\n\nExperience with Git-based development and branching strategies.\n\nExperience with automated deployments, environment management, monitoring, logging, and release processes.\n\nExposure to Infrastructure as Code and cloud deployment practices is desirable.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field\n\nBonus Points\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.\n\nExperience with GCS, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or other GCP data services.\n\nExperience with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.\n\nExperience with REST APIs and SaaS data integrations.\n\nExperience with data quality and data observability tools.\n\nKnowledge of Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.\n\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAt TELUS Digital, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
