Job Description
We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our Operations team in San Diego, CA. This internship is designed as a hands-on learning experience where you will develop practical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to support corporate networking, identity management, and employee access. You will work directly with our modern cloud IT stack, participate in dedicated information security training, and help manage our growing fleet of corporate and IoT devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Identity & Access Management: Administer users, security groups, and application access using Okta and Google Workspace. Handle onboarding and offboarding workflows.

- Access & Connectivity Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 employee helpdesk tickets related to system access, cloud services, and general network connectivity.
- IoT & Workspace Technology: Deploy, configure, and maintain office IoT endpoints, including conference room A/V hardware, digital signage displays, and other connected workplace devices.
- Security Operations (Training & Hands-on): Complete guided training modules on our core security stack, applying your knowledge to monitor and secure endpoints using Hexnode (MDM), CrowdStrike (EDR), and Google SecOps.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (or equivalent boot camp/certification experience).
- Fundamental understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
- Basic familiarity with cloud productivity suites (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365).
- Strong analytical mindset with a genuine curiosity for troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach to helping users.
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on setup or administration experience with Ubiquiti (UniFi) networking gear or access hubs.
- Prior exposure to Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms or endpoint protection software.
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
What You Will Learn
By the end of this internship, you will have gained enterprise-level experience in identity federation, zero-trust security principles, mobile device management, and advanced network troubleshooting. You will leave with the diagnostic skills necessary to confidently support modern corporate IT environments from the hardware layer up through cloud SaaS applications.
Physical Demands
- Sitting and standing: Extended periods at a desk performing computer-based design, simulation, and documentation work, balanced with time at a lab bench or in the shop during hardware build and testing
- Lifting and carrying : Lift and carry equipment, test fixtures, or hardware assemblies up to 50 lbs.; heavier items handled with mechanical assistance or team lift
- Hand dexterity: Frequent use of hands for assembly, fabrication, instrumentation hookup, and operation of test and shop equipment
- Visual acuity: Ability to read engineering drawings, inspect hardware, and identify dimensional and surface quality features during fabrication and testing
- PPE compliance: Ability to wear and work effectively in required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, heat-resistant gloves, safety shoes, and other appropriate gear in high-temperature lab and shop environments
- Safety acumen: Demonstrated understanding of lab and shop safety protocols, including hazard recognition and risk mitigation in environments involving high-temperature equipment, energized systems, and fabrication machinery
- Travel: Occasional travel (estimated <5%) for tool or material pickup

Compensation Range
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $25.00-$27.50/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, location, and relevant education or training.
