Our mission is to empower a company of builders by delivering a frictionless, standardized, and governed platform for agents, workflows, and core engineering tools. We operate Temporal as customer zero: we partner directly with teams across the company to run their real work on the platform, measure the productivity it unlocks, and feed what we learn back into Temporal’s products and an open-source frameworks our customers can adopt.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDevelop and operate our Agent Platform for deploying, running, evaluating, governing, and improving agents and agentic workflows.\n\nEstablish and operate the AI Infrastructure that agents depend on: LLM and MCP gateways with guardrails, fallback, usage and cost controls, and model rollout policies.\n\nBuild and operate agents and workflows that carry engineering work from issue to production and business work from trigger to outcome, with humans governing the boundaries.\n\nOwn our Developer Infrastructure (Source Control and CI) and build the developer tools that improve builder flow and reduce friction across the company.\n\nPartner with teams across Engineering, Product, Sales, and G&A to understand where AI could accelerate their work or improve the quality of outcomes.\n\nDrive adoption of agents and agentic tooling across the company, and own the best practices and enablement materials that help builders succeed using the paved roads.\n\nBuild measurement and feedback loops (usage, reliability, and cost) to quantify the productivity the platform unlocks and guide the roadmap.\n\nTreat Temporal as customer zero: turn what we learn into validated requirements for Temporal Cloud, the SDKs, and our Agent Harness, and contribute to an open-source reference architecture that customer platform teams can adopt.\n\nParticipate in on-call to support internal users.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nStrong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping and operating production-quality internal platforms or developer tooling.\n\nExperience leveraging modern agentic coding tools such as Codex and Claude Code.\n\nProficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used at Temporal, such as Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Java.\n\nExperience building workflow automation or internal tools (CLI tools, services, GitHub automation, cloud automation, or similar).\n\nStrong judgment about when to standardize versus when to enable flexibility, and how to remove friction without compromising reliability.\n\nComfort working cross-functionally, including partnering with non-traditional developers and translating needs into usable solutions.\n\nAbility to use data and qualitative feedback together to prioritize and measure impact.\n\nClear written communication, including documentation that enables self-service.\n\nNice to Haves\nExperience building internal agents and operating an agent platform\n\nExperience building and operating Temporal applications.\n\nTemporal Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
