Through online gaming, live broadcasts, and offline eSports, IEG assists the company in leading the global interactive entertainment market to create better interactive entertainment content experiences for users.\nWhat the Role Entails\nAbout the RoleWe are exploring the next generation of AI-Native Games - games that are designed with AI as a core system, not just a feature.\nAs an AI-Native Game Design Intern, you will work closely with a small cross-functional team to prototype, iterate, and refine experimental game concepts powered by modern AI technologies.\nThis role is ideal for someone who loves games, understands AI, and is excited to build things hands-on using AI tools to push game design forward.\nResponsibilitiesDesign and prototype AI-Native gameplay systems, mechanics, and experiences.\nExplore how LLMs, generative AI, agents, and procedural systems can be used as core game design elements.\nRapidly build and iterate game prototypes (from concept to playable demos).\nUse AI tools to assist in:\nGame design ideation and balancing\nNarrative, dialogue, and world-building\nPrototyping, scripting, and content generation\nCollaborate closely with other members in a small, highly iterative team.\nRefine prototypes into more polished designs through playtesting and feedback.\nWho We Look For\nStrong passion for games and game design, with broad knowledge of different game genres.\nSolid understanding of AI concepts (e.g. LLMs, generative models, agents, procedural generation).\nStrong hands-on ability and willingness to experiment and build quickly.\nExperience using AI tools in creative or technical workflows (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Copilot, etc.)\nAbility to think critically about how AI changes game design, not just production efficiency.\nComfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous, exploration-driven environment.\nGood communication skills and ability to express design ideas clearly.\nNice to HaveExperience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot, etc.)\nBasic scripting or programming experience (Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.)\nExperience building game prototypes or participating in game jam projects\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted pipelines or AI-driven game mechanics\nEqual Employment Opportunity at Tencent\nAs an equal opportunity employer, we firmly believe that diverse voices fuel our innovation and allow us to better serve our users and the community.
