The team investigates market signals and developments, enhances monitoring and control mechanisms, and further professionalizes market monitoring and surveillance within TenneT in compliance with Article 15 of REMIT. Together, we work to ensure effective market monitoring while continuously improving our processes, monitoring methods and understanding of market developments.\n\nYou are responsible for, among other things:\n\n Designing, implementing and validating methods for detecting unusual market behaviour and potential market abuse.\n\n Developing tools that enable the efficient analysis and investigation of alerts.\n\n Acting as a bridge between business, analytics and IT, translating market monitoring and surveillance needs into scalable data engineering, platform development and model deployment solutions.\n\n Daily coordination and exchange of knowledge with other members of the MMS team about findings and market developments.\n\n Contributing to the further professionalisation of the team together with colleagues, such as documenting processes and information models that are relevant to market monitoring and market surveillance.\n\n Identifying opportunities to improve existing monitoring approaches and exploring new analytical techniques and technologies.\n\nWaar kom je terecht\n\nOperate is responsible for the end-to-end operation of the Dutch electricity grid and ensures security of supply, system stability, and market facilitation in the Netherlands and across Europe. We expect you to bring the right expertise and skills to add real value to our team and our mission.\n\nWhat do you bring?\n\n Master’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level in Data Science, Computing Science, Econometrics or a related field (at least 5 years of relevant professional experience).\n\n Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with Pandas, Pyspark and/or Scikit-Learn. Experience with Databricks or another cloud-based data platform is highly desirable.\n\n Proven experience developing, validating and deploying machine learning or statistical models in a production or operational environment. Experience with electricity or financial markets, time series analysis and/or anomaly detection is a strong advantage.\n\n Strong analytical skills and the ability to think creatively and out-of-the-box.\n\n Interest in the electricity market and the dynamics of market processes.\n\n An assertive and proactive attitude, with the ability to build a network and engage stakeholders effectively.\n\n Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken. We believe in collaboration, forward thinking, and innovation.\n\nWhat we offer\n\n A permanent contract for 40 hours per week with a two-month probation period.\n\n A salary in scale 9: €4.816 – €9.472 per month (based on 40h), plus 8% holiday allowance, 6% year-end bonus, and 70% pension contribution.\n\n 43 vacation days per year (full-time basis).\n\nWith a signed employment contract in place, there is still one step to go: the pre employment screening. TenneT requires at least a Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag from every employee. For some positions, a VOG is not sufficient and an extensive screening, such as an AIVD, follows.
