Powered by proprietary models, Tennr handles the complex paperwork that gets patients through the door and providers paid, helping operators get patients the right care, at the right time, in the right setting.\nAbout the role\nAs we build out our internal accounting function, we are hiring an Accounting Manager to serve as its operational anchor - owning full-cycle accounting and establishing the processes and controls needed to support the company at scale.\nReporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will lead the monthly close, own the Order to Cash life cycle, and help carry the company through its first financial-statement audit toward audit-ready, repeatable operations. This is a high-ownership role for an experienced accountant who can operate hands-on while building for scale.\nResponsibilities\nMonth-end close: Own the end-to-end close, continuously improving cycle time and accuracy while reducing reliance on manual work and external support.\n\nRevenue recognition: Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, deferred revenue, and usage-based billing; reconcile billing systems to the general ledger and resolve variances.\n\nAccounts receivable & collections: Manage collections and DSO and develop the AR function, including coaching junior team members.\n\nAccounts payable: Oversee AP, vendor payments, and expense management, with disciplined approval workflows and clear vendor accountability.\n\nPayroll & equity: Review payroll and support equity and stock-based compensation accounting.\n\nAudit & compliance: Lead audit preparation and the PBC process for the financial-statement and 401(k) audits; support sales-tax and multi-state payroll compliance.\n\nSystems & process: Design scalable, well-documented processes and controls, support the company's ERP migration, and identify and implement automation.\n\nTeam leadership: Mentor team members, coordinate with external accounting partners, and grow into leadership of the in-house accounting team.\n\nQualifications\n5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle ownership across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report.\n\nStrong command of US GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), with the ability to own the close independently.\n\nExperience at a high-growth technology or SaaS company, ideally with usage-based or consumption billing models.\n\nProficiency with modern ERP and billing systems and advanced spreadsheet skills.\n\nExperience supporting or preparing for a financial-statement audit.\n\nA track record of building and documenting scalable processes and controls and of automating manual work.\n\nHigh ownership, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment.\n\nBased in the New York City area and able to work onsite 4 days a week.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nActive CPA\n\nBig 4 or public accounting background\n\nERP implementation experience\n\nMulti-entity or international accounting experience (the company is establishing an international entity)\n\nComfort working directly with data (e.g., SQL)\n\nWhy Tennr?\nDrive Impact: one of our company values is Cowboy, meaning you set the pace.
